With
a net worth of $2.2 billion, Ana Lucia de Mattos Barretto Villela belongs to
one of Brazil’s oldest and most distinguished banking families, and is the
youngest female billionaire in Brazil. Her great-grandfather established one of
Brazil’s largest banks, Itau, which then merged with Unibanco to form
Itau-Unibanco, Latin America’s largest bank for private sectors. She became the
first woman board member of itau Unibanco at the age of 44. Ana holds many
shares in different family holdings, and she inherited her parents’ bank shares
when they tragically died in a plane crash when she was just 8 years old.
Currently, Ana is married and is residing in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
