6. Flavored Yogurt Isn’t as Healthy as Plain Yogurt

A 2015 meta-analysis conducted by PLoS ONE found no fault in people with diabetes consuming yogurt. The good news was received with open arms by most diabetics. However, it was later revealed that the study only concentrated on plain yogurt. In truth, plain yogurt is good for you, but flavored yogurt is full of additives that contain non-recommended sugar levels. Registered dietitian Despina Hyde Gandhi affirms that the add-ons such as syrup and fruit base raise yogurt’s glucose levels, which make flavored yogurt not suitable for diabetic consumption.
