6. Police Dog Crimefighter
Although all police dogs deserve recognition for their incredible service, one special K9 in Mississippi has earned extra recognition. Lucus, a black Belgian Malinois, was on duty with his human partner, Deputy Todd Frazier, one night. While Lucas waited in the back of the police car, Deputy Frazier checked on what looked to be an unconscious driver on the side of the road. He was ambushed by two men, and cut with a razor blade. During the scuffle, Deputy Frazier unleashed Lucus, who valently chased off the criminals. The encounter cost Lucas some chipped teeth, but ultimately saved Deputy Frazier’s life.
