Bears are often the cause of death in these animal attack stories, especially mother bears. However, in 2012, a lonely hiker found out how heroic mother bears could be when one saved his life. While on a hike in California, near a popular spot named Whiskey Flats, Robert Biggs came face to face with a ferocious mountain lion. Instantly, the mountain lion pinned Biggs to the ground and nipped at him. After a few fearful moments, a mother bear appeared and grabbed the mountain lion by the neck. She then pulled the beast away by her mouth, allowing Biggs to escape with a few minor injuries.
