On September 11th, 2001, New York City was hit by arguably the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil. A group of 19 militia from the Osama Bin Laden led terror group, Al-Qaeda, hijacked four planes and choreographed a series of attacks that left 3,000 people dead. The main attack was focused on the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The photo below, taken by a tourist visiting New York, was taken on the morning of the attack, portraying the calm before a storm.
