Adolf Hitler, the German Chancellor who led the German machine’s conquest all over Europe, was an extremely unhappy man during his final days. In 1945, it finally dawned on Hitler that he was going to suffer his first major loss. Fearing that he might be tortured and turned into a political prisoner, Hitler retired to his bunker and tried to make the most of his last days. He married his long-term lover Eva Braun and even had a party in his hideout. Hitler eventually shot himself in April 1945, and his wife soon followed after ingesting a cyanide capsule.
