Space Invaders National Competition
Ever since the first computer games were introduced, gaming has united kids and adults alike. If you were born before the 2000s, chances are that you saw one of these computers. Before FIFA, Nintendo, and GTA came along, Space Invaders was the in-thing back in the ‘80s. The picture below was taken during the National Space Invaders Championships that attracted an estimated 10,000 participants. The competition was the first eSport competition, and a young woman named Rebecca Heineman shocked the entire world by winning the tournament.
