In 1942, people started using penicillin to treat infections and illnesses. On February 12, 1941, Albert Alexander used the drug for the first time. The drug was not as easily accessible to people as it is now. A doctor’s prescription was needed to purchase the drug. Penicillin also needed to be administered by a physician. The image below shows an example of false advertising in a store, behind the counter penicillin, was not available. Medicines have become easily accessible since then.
