When Pam Grier moved to Los Angeles, stardom was the last thing on her mind. She got a job as a receptionist at American International Pictures until director Jack Hill saw something in her and cast her in the 1971 movie, The Big Doll House. After her first big break, Pam got into a couple of high-end movies and is recognized as the first black woman to land the lead role in an action movie, Coffy. Pam is still acting and has earned minor roles in movies such as The L-Word,which ended in 2009.
