Not all pet food is the same. While premium kibble comes from high-end ingredients and premium lamb, pig, or cow, the dollar store alternative pet food is less transparent about their food sources. The budget pet food found in the dollar store is also often expired, and has been known to cause a veterinarian bill or two. For Fido’s health, it’s much safer to purchase kibble at the grocery store or local specialty store. If you have to buy some kibble at the dollar store, make sure to check the expiration date at the very least.
