Ever wondered
why some toothpaste have stripes on them, unlike some who are just plain white
goo? Toothpaste company Aquafresh started the trend of the striped toothpaste, after
studies where they learned people wanted more out of their toothpaste than just
minty freshness and a boring solid white look. The blue stripes were added for
the purpose of dual cleaning and refreshing of breath, while the third red
stripe symbolize the triple-action of cleaning, freshening, and controlling
plaque. While most solid white toothpaste do the same triple-action cleaning
action nowadays, we must admit the striped ones look more attractive to the eye,
thus selling better than the plain whites.
