The Beatles were probably the most defined start of pop music as we know it. They experimented with sound, art, and style in ways that continue to influence the genre to this day and their work was undeniably amazing, even though internally they had their own peaks and falls, with nothing at the time really comparing to them. However John Lennon was killed by a madman at the height of their success. Having seen what the other Beatles went on to do, who knows what could have happened if Lennon had survived that fatal attack?
