Known across the world, this film star was the beginning of the truly glamorous, magazine-followed celebrity life. Marilyn Monroe was often confused for a “dumb blonde”, when in reality she had crafted a perfect persona to keep the press hungry for more: the best form of advertising a celebrity could wish for. Talented, beautiful, and quick of wit, she tragically died of a sleeping pill overdose. It is still questioned to this day whether it was accidental or intentional.
