9. Decreased or poor judgement

Struggling to problem solve can also effect a person’s judgement or decision making abilities. As I said earlier, in later stages relatives of people with dementia often have to resort to yes and no questions to make sense of what their relative wants or needs. This poor judgement can put dementia suffers at risk of scams though, so some monitoring of this behavior is advised.
They may also pay less attention to themselves and their appearance, perhaps not washing or shaving for days on end. This disheveled appearance is sometimes the first indicator to outsiders that something good is wrong with a person.
