The creator of Family Guy has not shied away from talking about religion. He has been very vocal about his beliefs and opinions. The television show that he created echoes MacFarlane’s personal beliefs on religion, which has caused some controversy among viewers. The Parents Television Council, a conservative group, named it the “Worst Show of the Week.” So why is Macfarlane so outspoken about his beliefs? Well, he says he has to be. “Because of all the mysticism and stuff that’s gotten so popular … It’s like the civil-rights movement. There have to be people who are vocal about the advancement of knowledge over faith,” he explained in an interview with Esquire.
