A Specific Odor
Life as a cowboy came at a cost. If you wanted to have a pleasant odor, you’d have to give up that desire as a cowboy. Cowboys spent several hours on their horses. They would ride all around the country, escaping from bandits. Some would even spend months on the trail. Whenever they pulled up to bars for refreshments along their journey, they were accompanied by a smell. The combination of the sweat and dirt from not being able to bathe for days, as well as the smells from the horse, made for an unpleasant aroma wherever they went.
