Diseases weren’t the only thing the people of the Wild West had to deal with. Fungus infections were common among the cowboys. They wore the same clothes for months on end and spent hours on horses without having a proper bath. The symptoms of the fungus infections were visible all over the cowboy’s bodies, in places like buttocks, armpits, and feet. It would also cause irritation and itching. The cowboys spread the bacteria from scarring with their hands and touching other things.
