POTUS is strictly not allowed to drive nor open the car’s windows when being chauffeured. If you’ve ever felt like your freedom is being curtailed, next time you’re speeding down the highway, think about how the head of state can’t even drive himself. The exception only applies when the president is driving in secured premises such as the White House or a family ranch. Former presidents have often complained about how this restriction is among the few things they would change given a chance.
