However, in mid-2020, the teenager trended on giant social media TikTok, with the hashtag SaveBarron amassing over 250 million views. The trend allegedly spread after netizens spread a rumor that Barron had an account in Roblox, a video game platform, under the name Jumpy Turtle. These claims were never verified, but that didn’t stop TikTok users from creating montage videos sympathizing with the teen.
