As of August 2018, the number of convicts housed in Texas correctional facilities was around 150,000 inmates. Even with the more than a hundred public and private correctional facilities, that’s still a high number. The only explanation for the high number of inmates would be Texan love for firearms. Nonetheless, whenever you’re in a prison area in any part of Texas, never attempt to offer anyone a lift. It’s against the law, and it might save your life.
