In 2009, South Carolina Governor, Mark Sanford, was caught in his lies, and the press was there to clear it all up. According to Time, Sanford lied about where he was for the duration of five days. During a press conference, Sanford spoke out about his infidelity, saying, “I have been unfaithful to my wife, and I developed a relationship with what started as a dear, dear friend from Argentina.” In 2015, he was spotted with his mistress turned wife, Maria Belen Chapur, attending the Congress’s annual baseball game.
