The 1995 film starring Mel Gibson was a huge success. The movie was set in the year, 1280 where knights were present. Although Mel Gibson played a conniving knight in the film, his attire was not period convincing. It seems the wardrobe team may have mistaken kilts for being a thing in 1280. Kilts are a Scottish staple, but unfortunately, they were not invented till way after the 1280s. Many viewers did not even mind the small error due to the marvelous performance of Mel Gibson in the film.
