The 2003 film was based on true events. If you’re a fan of pretty horses, this movie is for you. Toby Maguire starred in the film, which critics did not seem to hate. It became a fan favorite. The period of the film is set around the time of the Great Depression. Although there was nothing much to pick on about the film, there was one aspect of the film that didn’t quite add up. The jockeys can be seen wearing strapped helmets in a scene. The protective headgear did not exist around the period the movie was replicating. Well, it’s better to be safe than sorry, right?
