This Primetime Emmy Award winning comedian was once married to a man before coming out. Wanda Sykes was hailed as one of “Entertainment Weekly”’s funniest people in America in 2004. She’s worked on numerous award-winning shows and movies, and has found success on the comedy stage. It’s no wonder many fans thought Wanda Sykes was joking when she divorced her husband and came out. Sykes married record producer Dave Hall in 1991. By 1998, she was ready for a divorce. Although no reason was given, it was probably due to her homosexuality. In 2008, Wanda Sykes came out as a lesbian while at a same-sex political rally in Las Vegas, opposing California’s Proposition 8.
