10. Amber Heard and Johnny Depp
This next marriage dissolved with allegations of physical abuse by both parties. Amber Heard and Johnny Depp met on the set of “The Rum Diary” in 2009. The co-stars quickly fell in love and got married in 2015. All seemed well in paradise until Amber Heard filed for divorce and a restraining order simultaneously. While a police investigation found no evidence of abuse, Heard and Depp settled outside of court. Amber Heard retracted her statement of abuse and received $7 million from the divorce. Years after the settlement, Amber Heard wrote an op-ed for “The Washington Post”, stating not only was she a victim of intense physical abuse, she implied Johnny Depp was the perpetrator. As a rebuttal, Depp sued Heard for libel in 2019.
