5. Social ineptitude

It appears that people with dementia lose both the ability to feel embarrassed and to notice embarrassment in others. This may be linked to the inability to empathize with others as mentioned earlier. Unfortunately, this can lead to awkward situation such as public nudity or attempting to go to the bathroom in public places.
This behavior can develop further and coupled with the poor judgement often seen in early dementia, this can lead to criminal behavior. Out of character sexual comments or risky behaviors such as stealing from shops have been reported behaviors of dementia sufferers. Dementia sufferers also tend to stare more than normal, often making one on one conversation uncomfortable.
