6. To Have And Have Not
One of the most noteworthy actors from the golden age of Hollywood saw his celebrity marriage suffer after working on 1944’s “To Have and Have Not”. Humphrey Bogart was an undeniable star in Hollywood while married to Mayo Methot. Their marriage was tested, and failed, after Bogart shared a steamy kiss with Lauren Bacall on the set of their new movie “To Have and Have Not”. While the two claimed they were just friends while filming, they were often caught kissing and holding hands on set. Although Bacall and Bogart had a 25 year age difference between them, their chemistry would illuminate the set. Co star Dan Seymour once said, “We knew things were happening. He had that sort of smile you can still see on the screen.” The two were married soon after filming, and stayed together until Bogart’s death in 1957.
