“Stage Beauty” was the perfect romantic backdrop for the dissolution of this next famous Hollywood couple. Billy Crudup had been in an eight-year partnership with actress Mary Louise Parker. Their relationship seemed both healthy and stable, until Crudup landed a role opposite the budding actress, Claire Danes in “Stage Beauty”. The two hit it off immediately, causing a major rift in Crudup’s relationship with Parker. Danes has acknowledged the affair and regretted it afterwards. “I was just in love with [Crudup], and needed to explore that and I was 24… I didn’t quite know what those consequences would be.”
