17. Jim Caviezel
Jim Caviezel’s story is interesting because the actor was blacklisted for associating with a highly profitable acting project, and not due to any transgression of his own. Like many already know, Caviezel is best known for playing Jesus in 2004’s “The Passion of the Christ”. Directed by another blacklisted actor, Mel Gibson, “The Passion of the Christ” was praised by religious moviegoers for its authentic portrayal of Jesus’ last days. However, many critics thought the film overdramatized and glorified violence. As a result, Hollywood blacklisted Jim Caviezel and most of the actors that were associated with the project. Although Caveizel hasn’t been offered a major role in a film since “The Passion”, he did star in CBS’s hit television series “Person of Interest” until 2016.
