The 2016 presidential election turned out to be one of the most contentious political races in American history. While the majority of credible pollsters predicted Hillary Clinton the likely winner, Donald Trump pulled out the ultimate victory and became the 45th president of the United States. With how divisive the race became the months leading up to election night, many celebrities shied away from announcing who they’d vote for in the 2016 election. However, several famous people decided to speak out in favor of the eventual winner. Here are 17 celebrities that supported Donald Trump in 2016 and after.
17. Kirstie Alley
Known for her iconic roles in “Cheers”, “Look Who’s Talking”, and “Veronica’s Closet”, Kirstie Alley is no stranger to being in the limelight. Before the 2016 election, she received online praise for her endorsement of Donald Trump. In 2015, Alley tweeted she would not be endorsing Hillary Clinton, and instead, would support both Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani in the upcoming election. Although Giuliani didn’t ultimately become Trump’s running mate, Alley followed through with her vote. More recently though, she took to Twitter to say she’s voting for Donald Trump in his re-election bid for 2020, citing, “[Trump] is NOT a politician”.
