You might think political rallies and musicians have nothing in common, but evidently, musicians and singers get requested to perform at political events all the time. Not all musicians are keen to sing their songs at certain political campaigns and events. ABBA is a band that is loved by many, including politician John McCain. Unfortunately for McCain, the feeling was not mutual. In 2008, McCain selected one of the Swedish band’s songs for his campaign. He told Blender in an interview that “Dancing Queen” and “Take a Chance On Me” by ABBA are some of his favorite songs. McCain was declined by the band when he wanted to use one of their singles in his 2008 campaign. The band seemed to be adamant about McCain not using their songs. They even went as far as to send a cease and desist order.
