A Horse’s Lungs
It sometimes doesn’t make sense how horses can run so fast and for so long. As you probably already know, horses pack a large pair of lungs specifically built for breathing. Humans also use their lungs for breathing, but our respiratory tracts are highly adapted to speech. The picture below is that of a fully inflated pair of lungs from a horse. The lungs are so huge that it’s still a mystery how they manage to fit inside such lean bodies.
