The “Happy” singer was not so happy when President Donald Trump played his hit song “Happy” at a public event in October 2018. This did not sit well with singer Pharrell Williams. The song was played a few hours after a deadly shooting took place at a synagogue in Pittsburgh. The attack took the lives of 11 people. Pharrell sent out a cease and desist letter to Trump. Williams’s attorney addressed the situation, saying, “There was nothing happy about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday, and no permission was for your use of this song for this purpose.”
