Bobby McFerrin’s hit song, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” seemed to cause worry for George H.W Bush. The song was used during 1988 for Bush’s political campaign rallies. When Bobby McFerrin found out that his song was being used, he was not happy about it. The singer voiced his disapproval of the song being used. Bush, however, was determined to win McFerrin over. It was reported by The New York Times that he invited the singer to dinner, but McFerrin declined the invitation.
