The image below captured what would be known as Black Tuesday. October 29th, 1929, is remembered as one of the most terrifying days in American history. Thousands of workers on Wall Street lost their jobs as investors traded almost 16 million shares in one day on the New York Stock Exchange. Around 15 000 people were left unemployed as the remaining people of the industrial world began the Great Depression. It took America over a decade to recover from what had happened.
