Camels and Llamas are common animals in the middle east. This prompted scientists to try breeding a male camel and a female Llama with the hope of coming up with a Llama as big as a camel but with higher wool production. The first Cama was born in a Dubai Camel reproduction center on January 14, 1998. Although scientists believe the cama failed to live to expectations, they are still bred because they are well behaved, stronger than the Llama, and easier to handle than the camel.
