Known as the world’s most poisonous fish and boasting a reaction speed of about 0.15 seconds, the stonefish is one fish you don’t want to step on. Mostly found in coral reefs and shallow ocean floors, the stonefish lays down camouflaged as a stone awaiting prey to swim by before striking with lightning speeds. They resemble ocean floor rocks and pack more than ten spikes, releasing deadly poison when provoked. The poison can be fatal, with some deaths being reported less than 12 hours after impact.
