When a company finds it hard to attract millennials, who make up almost half of today’s consumers, something is terribly wrong with the business model. Since 2017, the company has permanently closed more than 150 restaurants and closed more than 30 stores in the first half of 2020. Applebee’s management is allegedly counting on small restaurants closing down post-pandemic and financial experts are predicting a profitable year for the company if that happens.
