Sprouts grow in warm temperatures, and this can lead to all kinds of bacterias to breed as well. Harmful bacterias such as listeria and salmonella thrive in warm environments. This puts you at risk for foodborne illness. Cooked sprouts have many health benefits, but when they are raw, they tend to do more bad than good. Some restaurants have removed this item from their menus.
